As my friends, my clients, have become familiar with my work, they ask me regularly, "How do I get started as an author?"

Good question. 

Have you ever felt the frustrating feeling that you could achieve so much more? Yet at the same time do you feel overwhelmed, trapped and driven by the forces seemingly outside of your control?

You are not alone.

In the 21st Century, the nature and pace of work is increasing and has become more pressured. Whilst we appear to have more choices than ever, we can find ourselves more driven. Whilst we have greater access to anyone in the world, we can find we are more squeezed by the expectations and demands of others.

With a career beginning in the mid-1970's, I've experienced huge changes in my own lifetime in the working landscape of our lives.

We need to find a better way of working. 

There is a way!

I have learned from the positive outliers, the 'bright spots'. These are those exceptional programme and project leaders who work differently in this volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous age. And because I have learned from them, I am now getting the results they get.

Here's the good news: We can all learn from what these people do, do it ourselves and get similar outcomes in our own lives.

About the Author

I'm a writer, coach and facilitator in self-leadership, leading change through relationships (stakeholder engagement), change management and project management.

To date I have published two solo books: Practical People Engagement: Leading Change through the Power of Relationships (2013) and Leading Yourself: Succeeding from the Inside Out (2016).

By profession, I've come from an IT and project management background, working in both the public and private sectors.

I'm passionate about helping my clients become more effective in work and in their private lives. I have the conviction that there's gold in most of us that just needs calling out.

In 1993, I joined the UK Government's team to produce what eventually became PRINCE2(r), the most used project management method in the world. In 2007, I was one of the co-authors of Managing Successful Programmes(r), personally authoring chapters on Principles, Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement, Benefits Realisation and the Business Case. In 2014 I was a contributing author to the Change Management Institute's definitive core reference: The Effective Change Manager's Handbook. So you could say my familiarity with project and change management approaches runs pretty deep.

So, I use this site to write about and test my ideas, as well as publish high-value, web-based learning solutions, such as Leading Yourself online and offer my coaching services.​
